Business Systems Support Administrator (1st Line)

📍 Location: Cornwall | 💼 Type: Full-time, Permanent | 💷 Salary: £30,000

My client is looking for a motivated and service-focused Business Systems Support Administrator to join their growing IT & Systems team in Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the start of their tech career or with early 1st line support experience, looking to grow into more specialised areas such as ERP, data analytics, or technical systems support.

The Role

This is an entry-level position supporting a range of essential business platforms - including ERP, order management systems, and BI tools like Power BI and QlikView. You'll act as the first point of contact for system-related queries, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st line support for core systems including ERP, fulfilment platforms, and BI tools.

  • Log and resolve user issues via the internal ticketing system.

  • Escalate complex queries to 2nd/3rd line support or external vendors.

  • Assist with user onboarding and system inductions.

  • Conduct data validations, basic reporting, and routine system checks.

  • Maintain internal process documentation and user guides.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide operational system support.

What's on Offer

  • Exposure to a broad tech stack including ERP, WMS, and business intelligence tools.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL and database investigation.

  • Support to develop specialist skills in system admin, data analysis, or automation tools.

  • Backing for relevant professional certifications (NetSuite Admin, SQL, ITIL).

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a 1st line IT, ERP, or technical support role is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and a logical approach to troubleshooting.

  • Comfortable using Excel and working with structured data.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.

  • Keen to learn new technologies and develop professionally.

Qualifications

  • A-levels or equivalent required.

  • A degree or diploma in IT, Business Systems, or similar is a bonus - but not essential.
