DevOps Engineer
Location: Devon (primarily on-site, remote by exception)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Healthcare & Pension

My client, a trusted provider of secure technology solutions to government and defence sectors, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their Devon based team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in hands-on, high-impact roles and enjoys working with both cloud-based and on-prem infrastructure.
About the Role:
You'll be responsible for deploying infrastructure as code, maintaining system security and performance, and supporting ongoing development and innovation across a variety of platforms. The work is highly varied and involves collaboration across technical teams, direct support for users, and occasional customer-facing demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and manage infrastructure using IaC principles
Automate processes and workflows using DevOps tools
Ensure systems remain secure, scalable, and highly available
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver solutions
Explore and integrate emerging technologies
Provide technical support and documentation
Skills & Experience Required:
Strong hands-on experience with AWS (certifications desirable); Azure/GCP also considered
Proficiency in tools like Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins
Containerisation with Docker and Kubernetes
Programming skills in Python, Django, and JavaScript
OS administration (Windows, Linux, macOS)
Networking knowledge including VPNs, DNS, VLANs, and firewalls
Desirable: familiarity with NCSC patterns, ITIL/ISO standards, and active security clearance

Applicants must be sole UK nationals and either hold or be eligible to obtain UK MOD Security Clearance. This is a permanent role based in Devon with remote work available by exception.
