Job Title: EC&I Engineers (Contract)

Location: Berkshire (with 3 days per week on-site)
Contract Rates: £475 -560 per day - Outside IR35 available
Clearance: SC required


The Opportunity

We are seeking EC&I Engineers at Engineer through to Principal level to support a high-profile, complex infrastructure project in the defence and nuclear sector. This role offers an outside IR35 contract, working on cutting-edge facilities with a strong focus on commissioning support, design assurance, and safety-critical systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design assurance reviews for supplier documentation across electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.

  • Support commissioning documentation reviews and provide input into commissioning activities.

  • Assist with reactive project requirements such as design changes, technical queries (TQs), and commissioning reservations.

  • Review and provide technical input into a range of systems including:

    • Safety Systems (e.g., hard-wired alarm systems, ventilation monitoring)

    • Security Systems (CCTV, access control, intruder detection, perimeter protection)

    • Building Services and Building Management Systems (BMS)

    • Door control and monitoring systems

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, project requirements, and safety/security protocols.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven background in EC&I engineering within highly regulated sectors (nuclear, defence, energy, or equivalent).

  • Experience working across the design and commissioning phases of major projects.

  • Strong knowledge of safety-critical and security systems.

  • Able to manage stakeholder relationships and contribute to design/commissioning reviews effectively.

  • Eligible for and holding SC security clearance (minimum).
