We're working in partnership with a specialist TV agency that delivers high-performance digital experiences for some of the biggest names in media, entertainment, and sport. With a strong focus on front-end development for platforms like BritBox, ITV, and ATP Media, the team is growing - and we're now looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to help lead and inspire their talented engineering department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is either stepping into engineering leadership for the first time or building on a year or two of experience in a similar role. The right individual will bring technical credibility, people-first thinking, and the ambition to make a tangible impact on both individuals and the wider team.
The Role:
As Engineering Manager, you'll be at the heart of a forward-thinking engineering function, overseeing a high-calibre team delivering exceptional digital products. Your focus will be on guiding both technical progression and soft skill development, while working closely with senior leadership to evolve best practices, team culture, and delivery efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, supporting both their technical and soft skill growth.
- Champion a positive and inclusive team culture through regular engagement and advocacy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align engineering goals with wider business objectives.
- Continuously review and improve engineering processes to boost productivity and quality.
- Maintain and oversee internal documentation systems to ensure efficiency and accessibility.
- Monitor team performance and ensure high standards are met across all development outputs.
- Balance innovation with delivery deadlines to keep projects on track and ahead of industry trends.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong technical background (either hands-on development or managing developers in a tech-led environment).
- Ideally 1 year of experience as an Engineering Manager minimum.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring or managing engineers, including supporting performance and career growth.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, especially relating to team dynamics, performance, and engineering resource planning.
- Familiarity with modern development tools, practices, and languages (experience with front-end technologies and CTV platforms is a plus).
- A confident decision-maker with a drive to enhance both team and individual performance.
