We're seeking a Junior Platform Engineer with hands-on AWS experience to join a forward-thinking technology team that builds and supports a large-scale B2B / trade eCommerce platform, powering numerous brands and distributors across the UK.

The role offers the chance to work across release planning, architectural decision-making, cost optimisation, documentation, and mentoring within an established and supportive team.
What you'll be doing
- Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure to ensure cost efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Recommend and implement improvements to systems and processes.
- Collaborate closely with software development teams.
- Write and maintain detailed documentation on architecture and operational procedures.
- Monitor systems to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers to plan and coordinate infrastructure upgrades.
- Liaise with third-party hosting providers for migrations and issue resolution.
- Migrate data and services from external providers into AWS environments.
- Apply and maintain AWS security best practices.
- Conduct Well-Architected Framework reviews and propose improvements.
- Experiment with new AWS services to identify opportunities for enhancement.
About you
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, especially AWS.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation or Terraform).
- Expertise in managing and implementing AWS environments and pipelines (Azure experience beneficial).
- Hands-on experience with Python, Bash, DynamoDB, MariaDB, and MySQL (LAMP Stack).
- Solid understanding of automation principles, immutable infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of serverless and event-driven architecture.
- Experience documenting and optimising infrastructure deployments.
