Overview

A leading M&E project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee all aspects of supply chain coordination across a major project. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient planning, movement, and delivery of materials and equipment, keeping the project running safely, smoothly, and on schedule.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience within M&E logistics, excellent leadership capability, and a proactive approach to planning and problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Management

  • Plan and manage storage both on-site and off-site.

  • Coordinate timely distribution of plant and materials in line with project deadlines and access restrictions.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to align deliveries with the project programme.

  • Oversee the transport and safe handling of specialist M&E plant and materials.

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and transport providers to ensure seamless operations.

  • Work with project management teams to implement and maintain effective logistics plans.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage logistics personnel, drivers, and warehouse/stores teams.

  • Ensure the logistics team understand their responsibilities and priorities.

  • Monitor and maintain training, competency, and performance standards.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with Health & Safety, environmental and legal requirements.

  • Keep accurate records of stock, equipment, deliveries and shipments.

  • Produce regular reports on logistics performance for senior management.


Skills & Competencies

  • Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or distribution management (M&E construction preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of materials, plant, and equipment used within the M&E industry.

  • Excellent planning, organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to lead teams effectively and maintain high performance levels.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years in a logistics management role, ideally within an M&E environment.

  • Experience in lifting operations.

  • CSCS Managers Card

  • CITB SMSTS/SSSTS

  • First Aid at Work

  • CPCS Card

  • IPAF - MEWPs for Managers

  • Fire Marshal

  • Support the successful delivery of a large-scale M&E project through efficient logistics planning.

  • Ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and equipment.

  • Maintain high levels of organisation, communication, and operational control across all logistics functions.
