Mechanical Design Engineer / Estimator
Full-Time | Permanent
£30,000-£40,000 DOE
An established UK manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Estimator to support the design and costing of ventilation and air movement equipment from enquiry through to manufacture.
Key Responsibilities
Produce mechanical designs and 2D/3D CAD drawings
Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with UK standards
Generate accurate cost estimates and quotations
Analyse drawings and specifications to select materials and processes
Support sales, production, and project teams
Requirements
Experience in mechanical design and/or estimating
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
Good understanding of manufacturing processes
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Desirable: HVAC/ventilation experience, estimating within manufacturing, ERP knowledge.
