Overview:
We're looking for a skilled Welder/Fabricator with experience working on automotive parts, to support the ongoing production of high-quality components for performance vehicles. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in precision work, has a good understanding of automotive requirements, and is available on a flexible, ongoing basis.
This contract is outside IR35, and ideal for an experienced tradesperson or self-employed contractor looking for consistent work in a well-equipped, low-ego workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of automotive components (mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium)
Fabricate custom parts using jigs, fixtures, and drawings
Maintain high-quality standards and weld aesthetics
Assist with fitting, measuring, grinding, and finishing as needed
Ensure health & safety procedures are followed on-site
Collaborate with workshop team on batch production and one-off builds
Requirements:
Experience in automotive welding/fabrication
Strong TIG/MIG welding skills with clean, consistent welds
Confident working from technical drawings or templates
Comfortable working independently in a workshop setting
Own tools preferred but not essential
Reliable, detail-oriented, and quality-driven
Bonus (Not Required):
Experience with exhaust systems, brackets, or subframe components
Knowledge of motorsport or performance automotive environments
Coded welding certification
