Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our clients dynamic team based in Falmouth. Working within the marine industry, the successful candidate will support engineering operations by leading on technical design, risk assessments, calculations, and the development and coordination of lift plans for marine-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver detailed engineering designs and technical documentation for marine projects.
- Prepare and review lift plans for marine and dockside operations, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and engineering standards.
- Conduct engineering calculations and risk assessments to support safe and efficient project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, HSE, and contractors to plan and execute complex marine lifts and installations.
- Provide on-site support during project execution phases as required.
- Ensure all engineering work aligns with regulatory requirements and internal quality procedures.
- Maintain project documentation and provide technical reporting to senior management.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, or Marine Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Experience/knowledge in the marine, offshore, or heavy-lift industries preferred.
- Proficient in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and calculation tools.
- Strong understanding of risk assessment processes and lifting operations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to be based in or relocate to Falmouth.
Desirable:
- Chartered or working toward Chartered Engineer status.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., LOLER, BS EN standards).
- Previous experience with crane operations, load-out, or sea-fastening design.
- Knowledge of marine regulations and practices.
