Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer - UK (On-site, Dumbarton Area)


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer to join a growing UK-based technology and product development company. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and optimisation of electrical and electronic systems for advanced commercial and consumer appliances.
The position is full-time and based on-site in Dumbarton, Scotland.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead electrical and electronic engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

  • Design and develop functional, reliable, and high-performance embedded, electrical, and electronic circuits and systems for appliances.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical and electronic systems with mechanical and functional elements.

  • Create and perform comprehensive testing, troubleshooting, validation, and verification of electrical and electronic systems.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and contribute to continuous innovation and improvement.

Essential Requirements


  1. Proficient in EDA software for schematic and PCB design, including BoM control and mass production experience.

  2. Proven ability to design and develop functional embedded, electrical, and electronic systems for commercial or consumer applications.

  3. Strong experience in testing, optimisation, troubleshooting, validation, and verification of electrical and electronic systems.

  4. Proficient in embedded system hardware and firmware development, testing, and debugging.

  5. Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.

Desirable Skills & Experience


  • Experience with UKCA, CE, UL, or ETL standards and compliance processes.

  • Hands-on PCB prototyping and validation experience.

  • Experience in smart home appliance design and development.

  • Knowledge or experience in wheeled robotic systems would be advantageous.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven track record as a Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer, ideally from prototype through to mass production.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design, simulation tools, and practical system testing.

Compensation & Benefits


  • Salary: £32,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

  • Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

  • Additional pay: Performance bonus
