The Role
They are seeking a Remote Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to join the team full-time on a long-standing SaaS project. This is a well-maintained 8+ year platform for a UK telecoms client, covering ERP, scheduling, finance, HR, real-time systems, and mobile apps. Think of it as a "project of projects" with a broad technical scope and real-world impact.
You'll be working in a highly technical environment with a modern, robust stack:
- Backend: Symfony 5.4+ (PHP 8.1+), Doctrine, MySQL/PostgreSQL
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Node.js, Socket.io
- Infrastructure: Docker, AWS, Terraform, Redis, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch
- Tooling: PHPStan (level 9), Rector, ESLint, PHPUnit, GitHub CI/CD, Sentry, Blackfire, NewRelic
About You
My client are looking for an experienced, independent developer who thrives in full-stack roles and enjoys solving complex problems. You should be able to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative, senior-level engineering culture.
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years' experience with MVC frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, etc.)
- Strong PHP and JavaScript/TypeScript skills
- Good working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Proficiency with modern frontend libraries (React, Vue, Angular, etc.)
- Familiarity with Git workflows (feature branches, pull requests, rebasing)
- Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
Nice to have:
- DevOps exposure (Docker, Terraform, AWS/GCP)
- Realtime systems (Socket.io, WebSockets)
- Mobile app development (React Native or similar)
- Search technologies (Elasticsearch)
Although this role is remote you must be based in the UK and have full right to work.
