Senior Platform Engineer - Azure | Hybrid - Mainly Remote (London)
Salary: £70,000 - 90,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits

My client, a growing and forward-thinking organisation, is currently looking to hire a Senior Platform Engineer to join their technology team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cloud engineer to take ownership of a modern Azure-based platform and play a key role in shaping its future architecture, automation, and security standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams, contributing to platform strategy while providing technical leadership and mentorship within the cloud infrastructure space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep or Terraform).

  • Lead the development of Azure DevOps pipelines using YAML, supporting highly automated and scalable deployment processes.

  • Act as a key influencer in platform strategy, driving best practices for observability, automation, and cloud security.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure infrastructure solutions align with organisational objectives.

  • Mentor and support junior platform engineers, reviewing code and providing technical guidance.

  • Oversee monitoring and alerting systems to maintain platform availability, utilising Azure-native tools such as Log Analytics and Application Insights.

  • Take ownership of platform-level design decisions, ensuring the platform remains secure, reliable and efficient.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Hub and Spoke networking architecture.

  • Strong proficiency with Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools (Bicep or Terraform).

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, automation, and cloud security best practices.

  • Experience with monitoring and performance tools in Azure (Log Analytics, App Insights).

  • Exposure to development environments such as Node.js, TypeScript, and/or C#/.NET would be highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile environments.

  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive and ownership-driven approach.
