Service Engineer - Newquay (UK Travel Required)
We're seeking a skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our client's engineering team, based from their Newquay facility in Cornwall. This is a hands-on role supporting both installation and servicing of mechanical equipment across customer sites throughout the UK.
You'll be involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial and utility equipment - typically large, containerised systems on wastewater and municipal water treatment sites. While some work will be based in the Newquay workshop, regular travel and overnight stays across the UK will be required.
(No prior experience in this specific sector is necessary - full training will be provided.)
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you'll:
Carry out mechanical installation, servicing, and maintenance of customer systems.
Support commissioning and testing on-site.
Work both independently and as part of a small, skilled team.
Be flexible to travel across the UK to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays.
Be based at the Newquay workshop when not on site - assisting with equipment assembly, preparation, and refurbishment.
Standard Hours: 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday
Travel: National travel and overnight stays as required (all expenses covered)

About You
Hands-on mechanical background - e.g., maintenance, fitting, or installation
Confident reading engineering drawings and working safely on-site
CSCS card preferred
Full UK driving licence highly desirable
Additional certifications such as PASMA, IPAF, confined space, or first aid are beneficial
Able to work flexibly across the UK and adapt to changing site locations
Pay & Benefits
Base salary equivalent to £28,464 (£16/hour) for 40 hours
Overtime paid at time and a quarter
All travel hours paid at pro-rata rate
Typical total earnings £32,000-£35,000+ depending on travel and overtime
