Contract Mechanical Design Engineer (3 Months)
Rate: £36 per hour
Location: UK (site-based / hybrid as required)
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a 3-month contract role within a well-established engineering and manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and development of heavy-duty steel products and assemblies
- 3D modelling and drawing production using SolidWorks
- Conducting FEA analysis to validate structural performance
- Supporting prototype development and testing
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and quality
Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical design within steel or structural products
- Strong SolidWorks capability
- Experience with FEA/structural analysis
- Background in structural or civil engineering principles highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
