Cyber Security Consultant (Consultant to Principal) - Defence & Gov
Location: Remote with customer travel - Candidates to be based around either, London, Bristol or Manchester.
Clearance: Active UK SC or DV Clearance (Essential)
Salary: Consultant £50,000 - 55,000 | Senior Consultant £55,000 - 70,000 | Principal Consultant £70,000 - 85,000 plus benefits.
The Opportunity
I am partnering with a premier consultancy experiencing rapid growth across their National Security, Defence, and Central Government practices. They are looking for Cyber Security Consultants (Consultant, Senior, and Principal levels) to act as trusted advisors on critical UK infrastructure and major MOD programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Secure by Design: Embed robust security principles into early-stage engineering and project lifecycles.
Framework Delivery: Apply deep knowledge of NIST 800 controls and HMG security frameworks to complex environments.
Supply Chain Assurance: Assess and mitigate third-party vulnerabilities across complex vendor networks.
Stakeholder Advisory: Translate technical cyber risks into actionable business outcomes for senior military, civil service, and commercial leaders.
What You Need
Active Clearance: Current, verifiable SC or DV clearance is non-negotiable.
Sector Track Record: Proven experience within the UK Defence sector (MOD, Tier 1 Primes) or Central Government.
Core Competencies: Strong technical risk management skills, sharp commercial acumen, and exceptional stakeholder engagement.
Certifications (Highly Desirable): CISSP, CISM, or CRISC.
