Voltage: 11kV / 33kV
Rate: £500-550 per day
The role
We have a live contract opportunity for an experienced electrical consultant to provide independent technical oversight on a major projects programme across the Sheffield and Wakefield region. This is a review and assurance role - not a design origination position. You'll apply your HV/LV knowledge and commissioning background to interrogate existing designs at 11kV and 33kV, identify issues, and provide expert technical input to the project team. The work spans live heavy industrial environments, including steel foundry changeovers, with occasional site visits required.
Key responsibilities
- Review and technically assure HV/LV electrical designs at 11kV and 33kV
- Provide independent expert input and identify design gaps or risks
- Support the development and review of commissioning plans
- Advise on electrical changeovers in live industrial environments
- Attend site periodically across the Sheffield / Wakefield area
What we're looking for
- Strong HV/LV technical knowledge
- Solid understanding of 11kV and 33kV systems - able to critically review and challenge designs
- Commissioning background
- Experience in electrical commissioning or building commissioning plans is key to this role
- Design review and assurance
- Confident interrogating complex electrical schematics and providing structured technical feedback
- Live environment experience
- Comfortable operating in or advising on works within active heavy industrial plant
