Project Manager - Distributed Energy Infrastructure
Location: UK remote (infrequest travel to customers) 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract (Strong permanent potential) Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (Slight flexibility for exceptional experience)
The Opportunity
I am partnering exclusively with a leading sustainable asset developer and operator to secure a structured Project Manager to oversee a rapidly growing infrastructure pipeline.
This business operates at the forefront of the net-zero transition, investing capital into decentralized low-carbon energy infrastructure and localized distribution assets across the UK. They specialize in end-to-end delivery-taking accountability for the design, capital funding, construction, and long-term management of complex energy solutions for commercial and industrial partners.
As they scale their portfolio, they need a robust project delivery professional capable of managing multi-site asset rollouts and navigating complex commercial frameworks.
The Role
Sitting within the central program management function, this role focuses heavily on cross-functional alignment and rigorous commercial governance. You will act as the vital link between internal development squads, external corporate clients, and technical delivery partners, guiding projects through their entire lifecycle from initial contracting to operational handover.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established project professional from the renewable energy, utilities, civil infrastructure, or construction sectors to take genuine ownership of high-impact green energy assets in an agile, scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lifecycle Portfolio Delivery: Simultaneously manage 2 to 3 major delivery portfolios, encompassing high-volume multi-site infrastructure schemes.
Interface Coordination: Act as the central point of contact connecting technical designers, corporate clients, consultants, and sub-contractors (EPC partners).
Strict Project Governance: Maintain and optimize core project tracking infrastructure, including master schedules, risk logs, and comprehensive milestone reporting.
Commercial & Financial Control: Review complex commercial contracts, manage robust document control systems, and handle variations/change management to protect capital margins.
Stage-Gate Management: Support the business's investment committee frameworks, ensuring all required technical and corporate sign-offs are achieved at critical phase gates.
What You Need to Bring:
Sector Background: A proven track record of managing physical asset delivery within renewable energy, construction, utilities, or complex infrastructure environments.
Technical Breadth: Demonstrable experience working with power generation or distribution assets (such as solar PV, electrical design networks, storage technologies, or distribution-connected networks).
Project Metrics: Comfort managing projects ranging in capacity anywhere from 0.5 MW up to 50 MW+, with a solid grasp of distribution-connected infrastructure (low to high voltage).
Execution Mindset: A proactive, self-starting attitude. You excel at maintaining momentum and managing risk without requiring rigid, legacy corporate structures.
Qualifications (Desirable): A formal project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent).
