End User Computing / Windows Engineer


Location: UK - customer sites and company offices as required

Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced and proactive End User Computing (EUC) Engineer / Windows Engineer to support, deploy, secure, and maintain Microsoft Windows-based environments across a range of customer and internal projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering 2nd and 3rd line technical support, managing endpoint and server infrastructure, implementing security controls, and assisting with the deployment and integration of enterprise security and physical security systems.
This role combines traditional Windows engineering with modern endpoint management, cybersecurity, networking, and systems integration.

Key Responsibilities

Windows Infrastructure


  • Build, configure, deploy, and maintain Windows desktop and server environments.

  • Perform operating system installations, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.

  • Support Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows Server environments.

  • Create and maintain system documentation and technical procedures.

End User Support


  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to customers and internal users.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and security-related issues.

  • Support laptops, desktops, kiosks, and peripheral devices.

  • Assist with project deployments and site installations.

Microsoft Technologies


  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and domain services.

  • Support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Entra ID environments.

  • Deploy and manage devices using Microsoft Intune.

  • Configure endpoint security policies and compliance controls.

  • Support hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.

Network Security


  • Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity.

  • Assist with deployment and troubleshooting of 802.1X authentication.

  • Support certificate-based authentication and network access control solutions.

  • Work with switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, and secure network configurations.

Cyber Security & Compliance


  • Implement security hardening and Windows lockdown solutions.

  • Maintain device compliance in line with Cyber Essentials Plus requirements.

  • Support vulnerability remediation and security audits.

  • Work with antivirus, endpoint detection, and security monitoring solutions.

Security & Systems Integration


  • Support the deployment and maintenance of enterprise physical security and video management platforms.

  • Configure servers, workstations, and supporting infrastructure for security systems.

  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and customer deployments.

  • Troubleshoot issues across Windows, networking, applications, and supporting infrastructure.

Essential Skills & Experience


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Windows Engineering or IT Infrastructure role.

  • Strong Microsoft Windows desktop and server administration experience.

  • Active Directory and Group Policy administration.

  • Microsoft Azure and Entra ID experience.

  • Microsoft Intune deployment and administration.

  • TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing concepts.

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale endpoint environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent customer-facing communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills


  • Experience with enterprise physical security or video management systems.

  • Knowledge of 802.1X authentication.

  • Experience with certificate services and PKI.

  • Cyber Essentials Plus implementation experience.

  • PowerShell scripting.

  • Experience supporting kiosk or embedded devices.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Defender for Endpoint.

  • Experience with Windows security hardening frameworks.

  • Microsoft endpoint or Azure certifications.

Typical Day-to-Day Tasks


  • Provide technical support to end users and customers.

  • Build and configure Windows workstations and servers.

  • Deploy and manage Intune policies and device configurations.

  • Configure Active Directory and Entra ID integrations.

  • Troubleshoot network and 802.1X authentication issues.

  • Maintain system security and compliance standards.

  • Support customer deployments and system integrations.

  • Perform software updates, patch management, and hardware replacement.

  • Create technical documentation and deployment procedures.

  • Participate in project delivery and installation activities.

Ideal Candidate


The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with customers, and contributing to secure and reliable IT environments.
They will be comfortable working across Windows infrastructure, Microsoft endpoint management, cybersecurity, networking, and systems integration, while remaining adaptable to new technologies and customer environments.

Relevant Certifications - Desirable


  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator

  • CompTIA Network+

  • CompTIA Security+

  • Cyber Essentials-related certifications

  • Relevant physical security or systems integration certifications
