Location: Norfolk (Commutable from Norwich)
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
Salary: £40,000 per annum + Benefits
Department: Reports into Finance (with heavy IT collaboration)
About Our Client
I am currently partnering with an established, highly successful manufacturing organisation based in Norfolk to recruit a commercially minded Business Systems Analyst.
Operating within a hands-on production and engineering environment, our client is looking for a systems professional who can sit directly between their Finance, IT, and Operations teams. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys combining day-to-day ERP support, business process improvement, and hands-on data reporting to help a business maximise its technology investments.
Position Overview
In this role, you will become the primary internal champion and support contact for their core ERP platform, Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision). Sitting within the Finance function, you will act as the vital bridge across multiple departments (Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Projects)-gathering requirements, troubleshooting reporting bottlenecks, and ensuring data integrity across the entire business.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Administration & Support: Act as the primary business support contact for Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision). Work directly with departmental users to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and assist with system configurations, testing, and upgrades.
Reporting & BI Excellence: Develop, maintain, and improve operational and financial reports using Jet Reports and ERP data. Utilise Power Query/SQL to extract and interpret data, supporting management reporting and KPI development.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance and Operations to map out, document, and improve existing business processes. Deliver user training and ensure strong system documentation standards.
IT Infrastructure Liaison: Work hand-in-hand with the IT department on broader infrastructure reliability, system integrations, and the roll-out of new digital modules or initiatives.
What We Are Looking For (Essential)
Proven Experience: A solid background working as a Business Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, Data Reporting Analyst or Systems Administrator.
Dynamics NAV Fluency: Strong, hands-on experience working with Microsoft Dynamics NAV / Navision.
Finance Domain Knowledge: A good understanding of core ERP financial workflows and accounting principles (e.g., balance sheets, P&L, double-entry accounting, and stock/inventory control processes).
Data Tooling: Practical experience creating and manipulating reports using Power Query or SQL (experience with Jet Reports is highly advantageous).
Communication Skills: Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to confidently communicate technical concepts to non-technical users across the factory floor and the finance office.
Highly Desirable Criteria
Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, marine, or project-based sectors.
Previous experience supporting full-scale ERP implementations or system upgrades.
