Senior Estate Manager - South Region
Are you an experienced estate management professional with a passion for leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing large-scale maintenance programmes? We are seeking a Senior Estate Manager to lead one of our clients regional estate management teams, driving sustainable asset management, compliance, and project delivery across a diverse portfolio of historic properties and grounds.
The Role
In this position, you will lead a regional team of specialists (including Estate Managers, Building Conservation and Services Managers, Landscape Officers, and Business Support staff) to deliver a high-quality maintenance service. You will work at the forefront of conservation, guiding your region as they adopt new strategies in carbon reduction, nature recovery, and sustainable management.
What You'll Do
Programme Management: Develop and deliver multi-year planned maintenance programmes and conservation projects to increase portfolio sustainability and reduce defect risks.
Strategic Leadership: Contribute to national strategy and policy, empowering your team to adopt new approaches and encourage innovation.
People Management: Lead, manage, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of specialist staff, consultants, and contractors.
Compliance & Safety: Oversee regional estate-related compliance, ensuring safety-critical reporting and remedial actions are completed within required timeframes.
Technology Integration: Ensure consistent use of estate management software (such as CAFM systems) and support the deployment of new technology to improve outcomes.
Who We Are Looking For
Essential Experience:
Building and managing large, complex work programmes and budgets.
Working at a senior level to contribute to organizational and departmental strategy.
Leading multifunctional teams through periods of change.
Procuring and managing construction and maintenance contracts.
Managing an estate with a wide range of property-related safety, legal, and statutory requirements.
Utilizing bespoke estate management software (e.g., CAFM, GIS).
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., Building Surveying, Engineering, Estate Management) with demonstrable experience maintaining buildings and grounds across multiple sites.
Strong knowledge of historic and/or ecological environment conservation.
Solid understanding of current H&S regulations, building regulations, and statutory requirements.
Computer literate (MS Office suite).
