Data Communications Technician - South East


Position: Data Communications Technician Type: Full-time
We are partnering with a specialist engineering organization delivering bespoke, mission-critical network infrastructure for global clients. We are seeking a Data Communications Technician to join their Enterprise Engineering team to assist in the design, deployment, and support of complex, high-availability systems.

Key Responsibilities


  • Technical Support: Act as a key escalation point for service issues, delivering timely, accurate technical analysis.

  • Deployment & Integration: Support the build, commissioning, and on-site installation of complex client networks.

  • System Maintenance: Assist in the management of VoIP, virtualization, and high-availability infrastructure.

  • Documentation: Maintain rigorous project records and assist in the evaluation of new service solutions.

  • Support Rota: Participate in the technical support rota to ensure service continuity.

Your Profile


  • Security Clearance: Must be SC cleared or eligible for SC clearance.

  • Education: Degree (2:1) or HND/HNC in IT, Electronics, or Computer Science.

  • Certifications: Active Cisco or Microsoft qualifications.

  • Networking: Expertise in TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, and Layer 7 firewalls.

  • Soft Skills: A proactive, "can-do" approach with strong diagnostic and documentation skills.

  • Desirables: Experience in Linux/Windows server environments, VoIP/Asterisk, and scripting (Bash/Perl).
