The Opportunity
We are representing a globally operational industry leading organisation that is expanding its centralized technology function. They are seeking an Application Delivery Lead to assume full accountability for the end-to-end delivery cycle, technical quality assurance, and live operational stability for a core portfolio of internal business applications.
This is a comprehensive hybrid role balancing hands-on business analysis with delivery orchestration. You will serve as the primary bridge ensuring internal systems meet immediate operational needs while managing their ongoing technical evolution beyond initial rollout.
Key Responsibilities
Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee the complete software delivery pipeline from initial requirements discovery through development workflows, validation testing, release phases, and live operations.
Requirements Elicitation: Perform hands-on analysis to capture business needs, produce functional specifications, and draft clear user acceptance criteria.
Engineering Coordination: Take accountability for updates executed by internal distributed and offshore software development teams, tracking delivery velocity, quality, and priority alignment.
Release & Validation Management: Review code testing coverage across delivery squads, complete functional validation checks where required, and issue formal deployment sign-offs.
Subject Matter Authority: Maintain accurate documentation and systemic knowledge to support internal service desks and incident management teams during system deployments or service interruptions.
Hypercare Support: Coordinate post-release support phases to ensure minimal disruption to daily workflows and smooth user adoption of newly introduced application features.
Key Skills Required
Essential
Application Delivery: A proven track record of managing and owning internal software application delivery within complex, enterprise-scale environments.
Business Analysis: Solid experience gathering requirements and mapping documentation as a key element of a technical delivery position.
SDLC Methodologies: A strong understanding of software development life cycle principles, continuous integration, and modern software testing protocols.
Team Orchestration: Prior experience working effectively with cross-functional product owners and remote or offshore engineering teams.
Desirable
Industrial Software Exposure: Prior familiarity or hands-on experience handling specialized inventory control platforms, stock allocation suites, or distribution tracking applications.
Sector Background: A career history centered around high-velocity routing, supply fulfillment, or heavy real-time operations software architecture.
Live System Maintenance: Experience diagnosing production issues and coordinating resolutions in tandem with standard tier-one helpdesk and infrastructure support units.
